Hi, my name is Pumpkin - I recently lost my beloved brother Pinochle :-(
I am a very well behaved older cat with plenty of love left to give. I am quite healthy, very clean, and really enjoy spending time with people. My owner loves me very much. Due to a number of changes in her life, she has had to make the decision to re-home me. She wants the very best for me, and feels that a safe, quiet, forever home with a single cat lover or couple would suit me best. I am 11 years young - I am outgoing and gregarious. Our owner says that I am like a little dog. She has trained me to come when she calls me. Being a cat, I come running MOST of the time when she calls my name and snaps her fingers. I love to greet her at the door when she comes home, too. If you would like to open your heart and home to me, I promise to add immeasurable joy, laughter and companionship to your life. I will bring with me all of my cat belongings, including a 1 year supply of prescription cat food and a super cool cat litter box that looks like a potted plant. Pumpkin's Current Home Environment - Quiet! No children, other pets, or ruckus. I work from home so I'm with her all day long. Pumpkin's Current Family: I'm her family, single with other family members living in the home. Pumpkin's Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities? Toys: Laser, feather toys, balls Food: Dry and wet RX food. I don't like treats and have never had 'people food' Activities: Sleeping, curling up next to someone, playing with toys, getting brushed Cute Pumpkin Story: When I adopted the cats (Pumpkin and her deceased brother Pinochle) they were both in the cage together and person helping me asked me which of the two cats did I want to adopt and I said 'both, you can't split them up' (they came into the shelter together). I used to live in the country and had a very large deck the cats would hang out on. Every so often a large insect would make it's way on the deck and the cats would catch the insect and bring it in the house all proud like it just caught a mouse. Why is Pumpkin Being Rehomed? There are two reasons: 1. Recently moved to a new condo that does not allow pets 2. My life is about to become very nomadic and I will be traveling and living in different cities throughout the year for years to come. It will not be fair to Pumpkin to have to move from place to place or be left with a cat sitter for months on end. I have no family members that can help take care of Pumpkin long term. They need to be with a stable family. Pumpkin's Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be: I want her to be in a quite home, she will not do well with a lot of ruckus - small children, other pets. She is just not used to that level of activity in the home. The ideal home for Pumpkin would be in a quite home, with a family that loves cats and give her lots of attention and love. A stable home, not a lot of moving around. I want her to stay indoors. Additional Comments: Pumpkin so friendly and well behaved, even around strangers. Once when my brother came to visit and met them for the first time (they were about 9 years old), he said 'these are the friendliest cats I've seen - they come right up to you' I've poured so much love and attention into them over their life span that it shows in their behavior. Pumpkin doesn't have behavioral issues. I've taken pristine care of her over her entire life and love her very much.
